Based in Brooklyn, NY
B. 1948 Miami, Florida
ARTIST STATEMENT:
My art is inspired by the life, literature, the power of images and nature. Painting, drawing, print-making and collage are my primary mediums. I am always looking for boldness, emotion, intensity and energy to animate my work. I do not usually work from source material although I might have images, ideas or words in my mind that serve as guides or inspiration. I let the painting tell me what to do and when it stops talking to me, I know it’s finished. At least for the moment since a dialog with an artwork always has the possibility of starting again, months or years later.
