UNFRAMED & UNBOUND

Unframed & Unbound

Curated by Connie Lee On view October 14, 2023 through December 31, 2023

“The works on paper, textile art and sculptures in the exhibition are created without boundaries and presented with that in mind” ~Connie Lee

Works on Paper - Lois Bender, Karin Bruckner, Alison Cuomo, Elsie Deliz, Emily Stedman, and Vicky A. Stein

Presenting art unframed allows the viewer to experience the work with no filter. The paper used is inherently beautiful whether it is 300 lb. watercolor paper or torn from a sketch book. The impression a print roller makes adds depth and the edges feel authentic.

Textile Art - Carol Paik

Repurposed textiles offer a sense of history and an acknowledgement of how time changes everything. The artist created Lines of Demarcation over the course of 100 days, completing a piece each day. All 100 pieces in the series are installed sequentially, meandering from room to room and down hallways.

Sculpture - Hiroshi Shafer

There is something simple and relatable about subverting common objects. In Shafer’s hands the manipulation of forks and spoons, the possibilities become endless. The sculptures are nonfunctional and delicate but the impulse to touch is irresistable. However, the way they are stretched, shaped, or warped hinders the ability to touch them.
