ARTIST STATEMENT:
Lynn Lieberman is a watercolorist painting under the name, AFineLyne. Her paintings are tributes to neighborhoods and speak to preservation and cultural significance. Lieberman’s series of maps, document and outline what many New Yorkers think of as iconic public spaces, that over time are changed by patterns of migration and gentrification.
Lieberman is a native New Yorker which is inherent in her work and in the popular arts and culture blog site, GothamToGo, that she founded in 2017, covering exhibits, installations and cultural events throughout the five-boroughs.
BIO:
Lynn Lieberman is based in New York City, and is a collaborating member of Art Lives Here. Formerly a member of the Salmagundi Club for 15 years, and Pen and Brush for 5 years. The artist worked by commission only for nearly 8 years and only returned to exhibiting her work in 2022. Since then, Lieberman has exhibited her work in Art Lives Here: Collecting an art fair at Westbeth Gallery, New York, NY. “Mapping East Harlem” at La Marqueta, New York, NY. And the Brownstone Gallery, Living With Art, New York, NY.
